Nevertheless, time really passes just a blink of time. Things don’t happen really what we foresee nor it’s excepted but it won’t kill off a fair bit of faith that we have. Have done with breads long time ago and now been busy looking for flour. Been busy preparing stuff for a “better” tomorrow.

Back to the updates which should have done long time back and it’s kind of total “chaotic” as it so much to updates. Now trying my ultimate to recall every single second of it. Beside Malaysia trip updates for last year and also 2 short trips that i visited Hatyai.

Last year, after meeting those kids during the last trip in KL to visit my friends and decided to pay them another visit to pass them the photos personally together with a little surprises!

It just a little gifts that i thought will be nice for them. Thought of stationaries and some clothing will be great for them. Unfortunately, that i couldn’t afford to buy so many, especially clothes. But managed to collected some used clothes and of cos strict QC was conducted.

Many thanks to Harjana, my nephew and nieces to donated their clothes. And Annette too, she was the one who i order the stationaries. Insisted, not want my money as she has learned the story about the children from Harjana. As promised, i still owe her a meal!

Here are the stuff that i got for them and as usually, preparing of getting it up there is never easy when u are doing alone.

It’s always nice to catch up with friends and knowing they are doing well in life, at least still breathing healthily. Of cos there are lot more and below 2 pics are just a representatives. :)

As before, i am staying at Keng’s place and with the help of the Tomas’s gang. I travel without worry as they always make sure i am able to find my destination.

Even those long works at Sg that i have done was still not enough and with the help from them, it make things easier for me to accomplish this “mission”.

sighz……. i am way back dated and lost the sequences of updating the stuff. Wish all of you are good and healthy to welcome this brand new year, 2009.

2008 was “tremendous” year for all, perhaps.

So what have you done on the last day of 2008 to welcoming the brand new 2009? Nothing much for me as usual. Just took part in this event “Eye The City” - A VISUAL ACCOUNT OF THE LAST 24 HOURS. AN EVENT HELD YEARLY TO PRESERVE THE COLLECTIVE MEMORIES OF SINGAPORE THROUGH THE MEDIA OF PHOTOGRAPHY ON THE LAST DAY OF EACH YEAR. And those selected entries will be printed in a book for that year collection. See you there for this coming year end!

Personally, i find it very meaningful as it’s allow one to think deeply and recall what’s had happened thru out the whole year etc…….it’s my fourth participations.

The following are my entries with the write up of how i feel and thoughts for this 2008. Submitted 2 single photo and an essay photos story.

My Ice-breaker

Another year passed, what are worth us to be remembered? Especially those sad stories that we have heard, from Cyclone visited Myanmar to Sichuan earthquake and those innocent lives that have taken away in the name of “whatever”.

Today, here with me, my little chalkboard which has been with me for the past 5 years plus. Just a little project of mine that i would love to share with people wherever i go and whenever i can.

“Do you remember the last time you pause in the highway of life and thought about your dreams? Remember what it felt like?”

These questions are the preamble to my favourite moments when I catch unknowing individuals…

It is my belief that we live to dream and I’m perhaps one of the biggest dreamer. All of us have our dreams, regardless of our biological or geographical differences. With dreams, we are a step closer to breakthroughs for we can see the possibilities in what was once impossible.

That is the foundation which I have built my “Dreams” series on. The snapshot of an essence in which the subject may not even be fully conscious of. The snapshot that awakens the inner vitality which might otherwise remains in hibernation if not for the flashes of light to remind them to wake up for Spring.

With my camera and a spring in my steps, I hope to bring Spring to the people who cross my path and perhaps in the process find my own Spring too.

Btw, what’s your dream?

Safety Measure

From this new year onwards, smokers must always be mindful of where we are while we are smoking, especially in public places. We must always make sure that we are at least 5 meters away from commercial buildings and entrances etc. Be careful. Do not cross the line with the new smoking laws.

3022_img_7264_bnw.JPG

Symptom of Smoking Ban - Photo-essay.
On 2 July 2007, an aunty ‘educated’ me about the new smoking laws implemented on 1st July.

This year, the laws are again EXPANDED and being a smoker myself, I am in a FIX literally. I was torn apart by the dilemmas I felt. I love the IDEA of a “smoke-free” environment while I am in a club or any indoor premises but I hate the feeling of losing the basic freedom of a human. On top of that, smokers are not by default offenders or people without conscience or sense.

Though I lost the freedom to smoke in various other premises, I must not be powerless to deal with my dissatisfaction. Being driven to the brink of insanity, I began hallucinating. After all, with the laws EXPANDED and are WELL-COVERED, it would seem that smokers are marginalized. Being so minute in the eyes of the laws, (on second thoughts, ironically, we are rather magnified because all the laws are after us) I could only surrender my mind to hallucination to regain control over my helplessness.

A perfect haven for smokers…

3022_img_7465_bnw.JPG

In the little world in my head, although many places are well-covered, there are bird cells constructed especially for minions like myself. As I looked around me, there are no longer bins with ash trays… I am glad I have my trusty mobile ash tray with me, just so to keep Singapore litter-free. The smoking laws continue expanding, and so must my yellow box from 07, to be (within the box, always) I have too, increased my bandwidth. Finally, all good things must come to an end… so when will the smoking ban?

Most importantly, when will wars and poverty end?

Here one of the massage for me >LifeForRent: Charles} thanks mate….btw I think you seriously need to update your blog!!! the new title should be “Extremely overdue”<

First of all, i would like to apologies to who have been waiting for this update. It’s seem like i have taken a thousand year to make this entry and honestly, i am kind of lost track of it. Sorry, it’s just too many…

img_2212.jpg
Grey clouds have been all over here and there where it’s hard to be cleared. Perhaps this pic also reflected the inner-self and moods of thoughts.

At last but not least, that i have send all those email out! Hope i did not miss out anyone. In such a “short” time, a month? or maybe more than it. Many things have happened and done, receiving news, from happiness till departure of someone’s loves one. Life is never be able to be predicted, how fragile it can be. In just single second, it will just gone forever.

Dan, 30, “Thinking”

Dan, who i met 3 years back at Malaysia, KL. Where he was working as a security guards. On my previous entry, he has given me a shock of my life when he told me that he at Singapore now! I am so glad to see him here and he told me he will be working here so i thought we would have plenty of time and i will be able to bring him around Singapore after i am cleared with my stuff. But things just happened so unexpected, 23rd Oct, i saw a SMS on my phone “Hi, morning Charles, I’m going back today, take care, bye” Not even has a chance to say goodbye to him, the message was send at 6.35am where i slept at 5am plus, i remembered. Called him immediately but only dead tone received, everything just too late.

Honestly, i am very upset about this as it’s really not easy for him to come here, Dan, really sorry about it. Please write to me asap when you see this.

img_0107.jpg
A place where not many people has the chance to go, Dan brought me there.

Recently, happen to Yun on MSN where it’s kind of hard to see her online these days. She really made my day when she send me those pics that she took when she was traveling. It might sound kind of “stupid” for me to requested her to do these. But it mean something for it, cos “HB” have been traveling with me all these years whenever i go and have met numerous of “accident” where cause it “retired” and “RIP. It’s nice to see “HB” traveling around the world! Now, all the “HB” had “retired’ and there is no more “HB” for me till SuEe start making some.

Have been to KL twice, within a month time? It’s been a long time since the last time we met up with my friends at KL, as i was away for a period in China. Finally see them and nothing much change for them and knew few more friends!

And here how it goes…

Have head off to KL as “planned” with Tomas a short road trip, cos he has 2 weeks school holiday before he start his new semester. Then my butt was in KL soon after rushing off my stuff. Who knows, he only has one week of holiday so the road trip was off again since we have been talking about it years back.

img_3931.jpg

As usual, this is how i pack my stuff, neat and compact. It’s much easier to locate them when i need it. It contain of 10 tees and few briefs. Miss the old days in China!

img_3935.jpg

Here the “Grandpa” Keng in the studio after picking me up at the bus station. All the while, been staying put at his place when ever i was in KL. That’s very nice of him for letting me stay at his place.

img_3952.jpg
On the very next day, Tomas and gang have met with me for a quick lunch and we were stuck at the cafe due to sudden heavy shower! That week was really a “monsoon” season, where it was raining almost all time.

Nothing changed much for SuEe and Dorothy since we know each other since early 06 where they are my neighbor at the KLPAC. Tim, thanks for your dinner! I would love to go to this restaurant again when i visited KL again. Would try the “porridge” base soup which i had before at China. Perhaps now here is the nearest to sniff some of the goodies.

Before the dinner, i was at Suee new place and as usual i cant stop sharing my project with those people who i just met or those i have not share.

img_4193.jpg

And this particular group that caught my attentions, they have uniforms and has the youngest group too. Night was too late for them as they need to go school one the next day, i am very happy that i have put on a little smile on them.
